Reform Initiative to the Federal Labor Law to Regulate the Use of Artificial Intelligence in the Workplace

Initiative seeking to reform article 132 of the Ley Federal del Trabajo (Federal Labor Law) to establish clear limits on the use of AI systems at work. Proposes that AI be used solely as complementary support to human labor, prohibits employment decisions based exclusively on automated processes, establishes employer transparency obligations regarding AI use, and prevents discriminatory practices arising from algorithms. It also provides that the STPS (Secretaría del Trabajo y Previsión Social / Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare) will issue general guidelines within 180 days.
